According to a job posting on Gamasutra, EA and Steven Spielberg's collaborative game
series, Boom Blox could be set to make the jump from its Wii spawning
grounds to the higher tech. surroundings of Sony and Microsoft's
current-gen consoles.
"Our last two titles were Wii-based, but our next titles will be for the next generation," reads this job ad for work at Electronic Arts' LA studio (thanks, Superannuation). The ad also specifies that successful applicants will be working on, "The BAFTA-winning Boom Blox team".
Specified platforms for the project then read, "Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP," further down the page, clarifying that the term "next generation" is not a possible reference to the Xbox 720 or PS4.
In
all likelihood, an incoming Boom Blox game for the Xbox 360 and PS3
would incorporate Microsoft's Natal tech. and Sony's motion controller
(both of which are due for release sometime next year).
EA has previously stated
that it will be revealing its Natal and motion controller plans in
"early to mid 2010," so don't be too surprised if a new Boom Blox title
pops up around spring of next year.
